Extension of the Permission of Temporary Visitor in Quality of
Missionary

Legal foundation: Decree Law #16 of 30th of June of 1960, Decree Law #13 of 20 of September of 1965 and the Law 6ta of 5 of March of 1980.

Approximated time of process: 2 to 3 months.

Candidates:

The missions or communities can ask for the prorogation of the authorized Temporary Leave of Residence to its members and its dependants if it were the case, every year until by the term of 5 years (the Permission of initial Residence of a year more four Prorogations) after which, if it continues in the mission, it must to leave the country and to initiate the process again. The “missionary” Monk must prove the fulfillment of the mission for which he asked for the Permission of Temporary Visitor, as well as to contribute Proofs of its income.

Requirements:

▪ Provisional id.
▪ Medical certificate of Good Health sent within the three (3) months previous to the date of presentation. (It must have date, company’s signature and stamp with the name, code and record number of the doctor).

        • Tax stamp of value of USD$4.00 by page.
        • The Power will have to appear personally before the civil employee of the National Management of Migration and Naturalization or with the Note of Personal Presentation before Public Notary. The power the Legal Representative must grant it or maximum leader of the mission or Religious organization formally recognized by the Panamanian State. 
          If the applicant is in Panama, the power must be signed by the Legal Representative of the Religious Mission and by interested.
    • Request:
      • Complete and general information of the applicants and its dependants.
      • Complete and general information of the lawyer.
      • Complete and general information of the checks that are contributed:
        • Number of the Check,
        • Name of the Bank,
        • Date,
        • Amount.
      • List and identify the documents that are enclosed.
      • Expose the foundations in fact and of right in which
        it sustains the request of prorogues.
      • Tax stamp of value of USD$4.00 by page.
  • Passport of the country of origin with a minimum validity of six months of each applicant.
  • Photocopy of the passport of each applicant.
  • Two (2) photos membership card size of each applicant.
  • Sworn declarationon of Personal Antecedents.
  • emitted Certification, in paper letterhead, by the Representative of the mission in Panama in which the following thing consists:
    • The person interested serves as a missionary, with indication of the place where it will exert his functions.
    • The time that will remain in the country.
    • The resources with which it will support his expenses in territory and to express the amount and the regularity whereupon it will receive.
    • From where they come the bottoms with which it is sustained to missionary; if they are of foreign source or is paid with money that are collected in Panama.
    • That the mission is committed to repatriate it, once culminates his services in the country.
    • The monthly sum that receives the missionary for its sustenance, must to be of five hundred dollars ($500.00) monthly as a minimum and seventy and five dollars ($75.00) additional by each employee.
  • Bank Reference Letter that demonstrates the economic solvency of the church or mission. If the church receives the bottoms for fulfillment of the mission from the foreigner and declares to assume all the expenses that housing facilities of the missionary implies in Panamanian territory, the solution that demonstrates can not be inferior to five average numbers.
  • Certifcate in which the Legal Function and position of agent consists of mission or religious community and the name of the Legal Representative, sent by the Public Registry of Panama.
  • Card of the Institute of Social Security Declaration of Rent original or authenticated by the General Management of Income with its receipt of payment. (If it is entering to the system, to contribute certainty of inscription or in The Institute of Social Security in the Unique Registry of taxpayers.
  • Membership card of Identification emitted by the church or group
  • Plan to execute of the allotted Mission.
  • Report of the Fulfillment of the Plan of Mission, originally presented.
  • Declaration of Rents or Card of the Institute of Social Security
  • Provisional id, or the nearest one to expired.
