Legal foundation: Law #15 of the 1 of February of 1966, per which it is approved the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation between Republic of Panama and the Republic of Italy. Decree Law 16 of the 30th of June of 1960. If it includes dependants, must apply the Decree #52 executive of 19th of February of 2003.
Approximated time of process: 1 to 3 months.
Candidates:
This permission is granted to those foreigners exclusively of Italian nationality that they want to establish his residence in our country per indefinite time, by virtue of bilateral agreement between Panama and Italy, which allow to Italian and its dependants to reside indefinitely and to work in the Panamanian territory. This permission of residence, does not allow asking for the naturalization.

- Medical certificate of Good Health sent within the three (3) months previous to the date of presentation. (It must have date, company’s signature and stamp with the name, code and record number of doctor).

- Tax stamp of value of $4.00 by page.
- The Power will have to appear personally before the civil employee (a)
of the National Management of Migration and Naturalization or with
Note of Personal Presentation before Public Notary.
- Request:
- Complete and general information of the applicants and its dependants.
- Complete and general information of the lawyer.
- Complete and general information of the checks that are contributed:
- Number of the Check,
- Name of the Bank,
- Date,
- Amount.
- List and identify the documents that are enclosed.
- Expose the foundations in fact and of right.
- Tax stamp of value of USD$4.00 by page.
- Background Record of the country of origin or the country where it has resided interested last the two years. If the person interested it has two or more years of continuous residence in Panama he is free to present this document.
- Passport of the country of origin with a minimum validity of six months of
each one of the applicants.
- Photocopy of the passport of each applicant.
- Two (2) photos membership card size of each applicant.
- Sworn declarationon of Personal Antecedents.
- an additional photocopy set of all documents presented, including the passport.
- Certified Check or of Management by the amount of ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (USD$100.00) in favor of the National Treasure.
- Proof of Economic Solution of the applicant:
- Bank Reference, or
- Declaration of Rent updated with its respective receipts of payment (if the applicant tapeworm calls to account weather in Panama).
If photocopies appear, must be authenticated by Ministry of Economics and Finance.
