Visa of Immigrant and Permission of Residence by Own Economic Solution
Key: VISEP.

Legal foundation: Articles 1 numeral 6, articles 24, 25 and 26 of the Decree Law 16 of 30th of June of 1960 and Executive Decree Not52 of the 19th of February of 2003.
Approximated time of process: 2 to 4 months.

Candidates:
They can ask for this visa of immigrant and the corresponding permission of residence the members of a family that wishes to immigrate all together and to fix to the Panamanian permanent residence. The family must prove that it brings with to the country and it has its own economic means, sufficient, to cover the familiar expenses of house, feeding, education, health, transport and others.
It can only apply to this visa a compound family:
a)   Husband and wife (formally married and whose marriage it has been registered in the Republic of Panama),
b)   The parents of the main applicant,
c)   Minor children,
d)   Older children of 18 years but smaller of 25 years, unmarried (ace), regular students in University or Superior training centers.

Visas of Immigrants

Those who can’t apply to this visa:
a)   brothers,
b)   older children that are married
c)   brothers-in-law,
d)   Cousins.


Note: If some of the members of the familiar group are going to enter later, must do it after the family’s of the immigrant visa request has been approved. In this case, it must ask for Immigrant Visa in quality of dependant of a Resident Relative.


Requirements:

  • Provisional Id.
  • Medical certificate of Good Health sent within the three (3) months previous to the date of presentation. (It must have date, company’s signature and stamp with the name, code and record number of the doctor).
  • Power of attorney at law and Request.
    • Power:
      • Complete Information of the person or people interested:
        • Name,
        • Nationality,
        • Exact address,
        • Name and Nationality of the parents,
        • Telephone numbers,
        • Email address.
      • General Information of the Lawyer
        • Office’s Address,
        • Fax and Telephone numbers,
        • Email address.
      • Tax stamp of value of USD$4.00 by page.
      • The Power will have to personally appear before the civil employee of the National Office of Migration and Naturalization or with the note of Personal Presentation before a Public Notary.
    • Request:
      • Complete and general information of the applicants and its dependants.
      • Complete and general information of the checks that are contributed:
        • Number of the Check,
        • Name of the Bank,
        • Date,
        • Amount.
        • List and identify the documents that are enclosed.
        • Expose the foundations in fact and of right. 
        • Tax stamp of value of USD$4.00 by page.
  • A certified check or of management by the amount of ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (USD$100.00) in favor of the National Treasury - per each member of the family.
  • Certified Check or of Management by the amount of FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS (USD$500.00) in favor of the Ministry of Government and Justice, for deposit of repatriation.  Per each applicant greater than 12 years.
  • Background Record of the country of origin or the country where it has resided interested last the two years. If the person interested has two or more years of continuous residence in Panama he is free to present this document.
  • Passport of the country of origin with a minimum validity of six (6) months of each one of the applicants.
  • Photocopy of the passport of each applicant.
  • Two (2) photos membership card size of each one of the applicants.
  • Certainty of Kinship
    • Marriage certificate and/or
    • Certificates of Birth of each one of the children for who the visa is asked for.
  • Sworn declarationon of Personal Antecedents.
  • Letter of Responsibility of both spouses.
  • Request of Visa
    • In order to ask for this visa the foreigner will be able to take refuge in one of the following options:
      • A on credit Fixed account, to its name, with a minimum duration of two (2) prorrogable years, in a bank of the location, by a minimum amount of TWO HUNDRE THOUSAND DOLLAR (USD$200, 000.00). The fixed term must be free of all charge. The fulfillment of this requirement will be verified with a letter sent by the bank where the fixed term rests, in which it specifies his number and time of duration. In addition, copy authenticated by the bank of the certificate or contract of fixed term is due to enclose, or
      • To acquire to own a property real estate in the national territory by the sum of TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS (USD$200, 000.00). This will be verified contributing Certification of the Public Registry in which the property of real estate to personal name of the applicant consists and who the same one is free of charge, or
      • To acquire to own name real estate in the national territory by the extreme minim of EIGTHY THOUSAND DOLLARS (USD$80,000.00) and in addition to have an account of fixed term, to its name, with a duration of two (2) years in a bank of the locality by a minimum amount of ONE HUNDRED TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS (USD$120,000.00). This will be verified in contributing the Certification of the Public Registry in which the property of real estate acquired to its name, free of charge consists and the letter sent by the bank, that credits that the person interested has a fixed account on credit specifying its number, amount and term of duration. In addition, copy authenticated by the bank of the certificate or contract of fixed term must be enclosed.
