Visa of Temporary Visitor Under the Agreement of Marraquech

Legal foundation: Law 23 of 15 of July of 1997 which it approves the agreement of Marrakech. G.O. #23340 of the 26 of July of 1997.Decreto Law #16 of 30th of June of
1960, Decree Law #13 of 20 of September of 1965,
Law 6 of 5 of March of 1980, Law 47 of 1999 and Decree #52 executive of 19th of February of 2003.

Approximated time of process: 2 to 4 months.

Candidates:

This visa allows a company with less than ten Panamanian workers, but not less than three workers, on a full time shift and collecting as a minimum wage that is fixed by the National Office of Migration, to bring to a single foreigner to the country, as a temporary visitor, in order to work by maximum of five years. After the analysis of the request, this visa grants to those foreigners that have majority of age that they don’t count on their own rents and they work contracted by legal people, perceiving a minimum entrance of FIVE HUNDRES DOLLARS (USD$500.00) monthly, plus SEVENTY FIVE DOLLARS (USD$75.00) additional for each employee. He is indispensable, to grant the visa and corresponding permission of residence, that Ministry of Labor and Social Development, sends to his favor Permission of Work Under the Agreement of Marraquech that it authorizes to work temporarily in national territory. In the cases that the offices or professions are reserved by Law to nationals or protected by Special Laws, will have to fulfill these norms and to contribute the authorizations respective.

Requirements:

  • Transaction Membership card.
  • Medical certificate of Good Health sent within the three (3) months previous to the date of presentation. (It must have date, company’s signature and stamp with name, code and record number of the doctor).

          • Fax and Telephone numbers,
          • Email address.
        • Tax stamp of value of $4.00 by page.
        • The Power will have to appear personally before civil employee of the National Office of Migration and Naturalization or with the Note of Personal Presentation before a Public Notary.
      • Request:
        • General and complete information of the applicants and dependants.
        • Complete and general information of the lawyer.
        • Complete and general information of the checks that are contributed:
          • Number of the Check,
          • Name of the Bank,
          • Date,
          • Amount.
        • List and identify the documents that they enclose.
        • Expose the foundations in fact and of right. 
        • Tax stamp of value of USD$4.00 by page.
  • Background Record of the country of origin or of country where it has resided the interested person the last two years. If the person interested has two or more years of continuous residence in Panama he is free to present this document.
  • Passport of the country of origin with a minimum validity of six (6) months of each applicant.
  • Photocopy of the passport of each applicant.
  • Two (2) photos membership card size of each applicant.
  • Sworn declarationon of Personal Antecedents.
  • Certified Check or of Management by the amount of ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (USD$100.00) in favor of the National Treasure.
  • Resolution sent by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, that it authorizes to the interested person to work in the national territory as an employee Under the Agreement of Marraquech. In case of no to have it to the date of presentation of the Request of Visa, can present Certification sent by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, in which it is indicated that this permission is in process or it can present simple copy of the power and request by means of lawyer directed to the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.  In this case, slope has left the presentation of respective Permission of Work once is approved, so that the Visa Request continues its process. In case that the Permission of Work is not approved, it will be denied.
  • Receipt of payment of the Request of Certification of Migratory status that emits the National Office of Migration for use of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
  • Contract of original work, or authenticated photocopy, authenticated by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
  • Letter of work in paper letterhead of the company signed by the Legal Representative, in whom it must express the wage that is paid to the foreigner.
  • Photocopy of the Commercial License of the company.
